NFD Weekend Action Alert.

With just 4 weekends of NFD action left, it’s still not clear who will be crowned the champions.

On top of the log is Highlands Park (52pts) and this weekend the Lions of The North will go south to FC Cape Town (29pts) for a quest for 3 point in NNK Rugby Stadium. Baroka FC (50pts and 1 game in hand) heads to Harry Gwala Stadium for a crunch against title chasers Royal Eagles (48pts). Witbank Spurs (46pts) are at home with Thanda Royal Zulu(25pts).

Royal Eagles are eager to get all 3 points and get closer to the summit of the log while Baroka would want to win at all cost to keep the gap between them and Highlands park as narrow as possible so as to reclaim their top position should Highlands Park fail to get all three points in Cape Town or should they win in their outstanding match against Thanda on the 4th of May.

Mbombela United (44pts) lock horns with Milano United (44pts) in Athlone. With 12 points still up for grabs, both teams still have mathematical chances of reaching the playoffs positions should the teams ahead of them fumble.

Moroka Swallows (20pts) continues their Escape from Alcatraz when the host Vasco da Gama (27pts) in Germiston Stadium. Likewise, African Warriors (19pts) are feeling the Log basement pressure after slipping off to the 16th position and this week they host venomous Santos (25pts) in Charles Mopeli Stadium.

Mthatha Buck (23pts) host Cape Town All Stars (41pts).

In Thohoyandou, it’s a battle for honours as two former PSL teams, Amazulu (35pts) and Black Leopards (34pts) fights for a top 8 position.
