Match Build Up: Mbombela And Swallows Meets In a Smash’n Grab Encounter

On Saturday 23 April Mbombela United will play against Moroka Swallows for the third time in the history of both clubs. The last two meetings where during the 2014 Nedbank last 32 and ealier last year in the first leg of the NFD League.

In Dobsonvile last year, Mbombela United recorded their first win of the season when Sinthemba Njanti came off the bench to score 2 goals in the first half. Even though Mbombela played close to the last 55 minutes of the match with just 10 men after Jabulani Dhladhla was shown a second yellow, the Nelspruit giants managed to hold onto their lead till the final whistle.

This time, the two teams will meet with statistics favoring Mbombela United who are currently 5th on the log with 44 points from 25 matches, having won 11, drew 11 and lost just 3 games since the beginning of the NFD season. Mbombela are just 6 points behind leaders Baroka and just 2 point away from settling in the playoffs zone.
